What are these add-ons for?
Here you can find a variety of official and community add-ons designed to extend Tacview. Explore demo recordings to quickly discover Tacview’s capabilities. Install additional terrains for your favorite simulator in just a few clicks. Or use external tools to process Tacview data and build features such as online squadron statistics or mission reports.
If you cannot find what you are looking for, feel free to ask on the forums. Chances are that someone is already working on a similar idea. You can also create your own add-ons using the comprehensive documentation.
How do I install an add-on?
Installing most add-ons is straightforward and usually takes only a few steps:
- .acmi and .vhs files are flight recording demos. You can store them anywhere on your computer and open them directly with Tacview.
- .dat files can be installed in %ProgramData%\Tacview\, %APPDATA%\Tacview\, or in the same folder as Tacview.exe.
- For .zip add-ons, extract the archive and copy the contents of the \data\ folder into %ProgramData%\Tacview\Data\ or %APPDATA%\Tacview\Data\. The final structure should result in a \Tacview\Data\ folder containing the add-on files and subfolders.
- Some add-ons (such as external programs) have their own installation procedure. Please read the included readme.txt file.
Please note that third-party add-ons are not maintained by the Tacview team. If you encounter issues, contact the add-on author or ask for help on the corresponding forums.
